Thanks so much readers for entering our Grimoire of the Rift giveaway. Congratulations to presto321, who was randomly chosen from the commenters to receive a copy of Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Presto was short and sweet with his comment, "I loved the first game. I hope this one is as good." We're contacting our winner now, and want to thank everyone who participated. This was our first contest, but it certainly won't be the last.

lol ure just mad cuz u didn't win.
I have a question i won a game on slobsofgaming.com can i still win stuff here? (btw it was for psp and i dont have a psp)

Wesker00

i must say that that is bs. noobs have been wining everything lately. how about requirements from now on. like must be a button masher or something. that way ppl can't just make alt accounts and increase there chances of winning which is what probably happened here.

Well, from an omgRPG commenting perspective, you are all noobs. The contest winner did what you all did, which was post a comment for the first time in hopes of winning a prize. The point of the contest obviously was to remind Gamepro readers that omgRPG is here too, and I'm happy to see some of you now commenting on other threads throughout the site. Before you start condemning us for running a contest where everyone was able to win, take a deep breath and reread the last line of the post. No you didn't win this time, but that doesn't mean that you won't next time.

@mew2man:
Winning a contest on any other BlogFaction site does not exclude you from winning here. We each run our contests independently, and I for one am not in the business of excluding readers from winning contests on my site.

Lame. I agree with Wesker and Zexion. presto321 is clearly a pretty worthless member. Like Zexion said, he has contributed close to nothing. There's also a large chance that it's an alternate account of another member. There are just too many problems involved with having 'n00bs' win contests. One could argue that since this is completely fine according to the contest rules, myself and others have no right to complain. But this is a problem that plagues pretty much all of the sites on this network, and with a contest where I actually give a damn about the prize (a game that I have been discussing with fellow members for a long time, thought the same can't be said for presto...), I feel obligated to give input. In no way am I perturbed by OMGRPG itself, but by how all of these contests are run.

And so ends my rant.

"Presto321 is clearly a pretty worthless member"

This statement is wrong on so many levels. First off, NONE of our readers are worthless. From a financial standpoint, you are an ad view. From a personal standpoint, you are someone we are trying to engage in meaningful conversation. And from professional standpoint, you are a member of a community we are trying to grow from nearly nonexistent to an established readership. Please be more careful about labeling a fellow reader as "worthless" in the future, no matter how much input you perceive them as having.

I would like to take a moment to point out that, as a web developer for IDG Entertainment, I have direct access to the information databases that all the websites run off of. I can see quite a bit more information about an individual's site usage then what is displayed on their public profile.

In any case, the criteria on this (and any future contest) has nothing to do with GamePro rank. We asked you to submit a comment to enter, and that is the only criteria we requested. Rest assured that I validated the entries against fake/numerous accounts, and the final result was a randomly generated number rolled against the table of valid names. I am sorry that your name wasnt the one selected, and can only wish you luck in the future, no matter what your GamePro rank may be.
