Scribes among us, I have to apologize. I promised a part two to the Inscription guide right after BlizzCon, and then what did I do? I played RPGS. Don't blame me, it was totally Disgaea 3's fault, and Fable 2, and Fallout 3, and even Wrath. All of them lured me with their peer pressure and their "it won't matter, it's not like people actually level professions," and before you knew it, we were here, a week after the launch of Wrath without a part two.

But I have returned from the depths of my RPG addiction to provide you with the next installment of our Inscription Powerleveling Guide and to warn you: This is merely a set of suggestions on how to best get your Scribe Skills up to par. Many glyphs will be more useful for your particular class than what I have listed, and if so, feel free to use those along your path to profession herodom. If you are just intent on leveling through, however, this will get the job done, and you can auction off your remaining glyphs to make up the cost in herbs.

Pigments

Speaking of herbs, here's your shopping list for pigments to get from 150 to 225. As with any milling process, the exact amount of flowers needed will vary depending on your luck with mortar and pestle:

Pigment Amount
Required
Herbs
Emerald 110 Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Khadgar's Whisker, wintersbite
Indigo 16 Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Khadgar's Whisker, wintersbite
Violet 94 Arthas' Tears, Blindweed, Firebloom, Ghost Mushroom, Gromsblood, Purple Lotus, Sungrass

Herbs

This breaks down into this approximate shopping list. Yes, things are a lot simpler at this level, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Nodes of Fadeleaf and Goldthorn are going to be very popular for midlevel Scribes. I recommend a mod called Gatherer, which will mark the nodes on your minimap for easy tracking.

Herb Stacks
Required
Goldthorn 11
Sungrass 5

Supplies

When you're done with gathering (or buying) your Goldthorn, make sure to stop by the Inscription Supplier for some parchment:

Minor Glyphs

Minor Glyphs are the most sought after in the game. They are only trained through Inscription Research, so it's vital that you remember to use your Cooldown on Minor Inscription Research whenever it is up. While Major Glyph recipes are all well and good, the Minor Glyphs are well the real fun abilities are.

So there you have it. At this point in the game you will want to train in Artisan Inscription. Also of note: When you are milling for Violet Pigment you will also get Ruby Pigment. Save this as you will be using it in the next push of powerleveling from 225 to 375, which we will focus on next. Until then, enjoy the scribing!

Hindsight

I'm a total Inscription newb. Is it just me or does it seem very cheap to level up? Cheaper than my Alchemy or Jewelcrafting was. I think I'm jealous.

Mandifesto

Inscription is pretty cost efficient when it comes to materials. Your herbs are the biggest expense, but if you farm your own, then those are free. Granted, my Scribe is stuck at 365 because I don't have the gold on her to progress past that, but even at that level it's all very basic. She is currently mining Goldclover and Deathnettle as she finds them along the pathways to her Northrend quests.

Mandifesto

Well, keep in mind that Powerleveling Scribes are more likely to make glyphs to sell than they are to make vellum. The vellum are usually green or grey by the time you make them (with a few exceptions, like those in the guide above). My suggestion would be to hit up your friendly neighborhood scribe and have them make them for you. If you want to be super prepared, you can buy up a stack or two of the appropriate herb and some parchment so that they have no mat cost at all.

I know I have been making vellum for my enchanter but I am not high enough to be able to make anything for the enchants that she can skill up on. It's a strange Catch-22 situation, but my guess is your guild will have a couple Scribes high enough to help you out.

Mandifesto

Well, in that case, send Mandifesto an ingame mail with which types you need and I'll see if my Scribe can help you out.
