Everybody knew that I finished Persona 4 last week and was moving on to a new RPG, but not many knew that I was whiny and grumpy last weekend as I waited for husband to finish his game so that moi can play Eternal Sonata on the PS3. On Sunday, when my grumblings got out of hand, my husband turned around and asked me, “What did you do before you used to play games?”

Huh?

“Err…I used to…” I mumbled and fumbled.

Crap! I had no idea.

Of course, like most people I have hobbies, as soon as I get started on a game, everything is shoved aside. And when I finished my game, there is a huge void of BOREDOM. Do you guys ever feel that way?

Anyways, right after that scary question, my most insightful husband asked another one: “When non-gaming people get off from work, what do they do?” Seriously, what do they do? How can anyone live without games? The mind boggles.

What are your thoughts, people? Can you imagine living without games? (Or for some of my fellow bloggers - Warcraft? Mwahahaha!!) Your two cents please! And I don't mean literarily, although donated spare change will always be accepted by my piggy bank. Oink!

I've never really been between games, since I play about six at a time. For me completing a game is a huge accomplishment since I bounce between so many PC and console titles at once it's hard to keep them straight. I guess I play like I read books: keep a stack of games around of varied types to please any mood.

Wow, I can never do that. I have a one track mentality. Once I start on 1 game, that's it until I complete it. It bugs me to juggle many games. Same thing with books. Once I start on one, I either finish reading it or give up before moving on to the next. :) In short, you have incredible multi-tasking abilities!!

Also, I had this conversation with Arturis a while ago. I think people who do not play games fill their time just as much as we do, only with other activities such as television. I know I miss most of the TV shows I like simply because I don't have the time to watch them. I guess my priorities are elsewhere.

Generally speaking, much like Mandifesto, my "games in progress" list is never ending. World of Warcraft obviously takes a majority share of my gaming time, but its never the only game I am playing.

For example, a snapshot of my current gaming status:

PS3 - Dead Space (Half way into Chapter 3)
PS3 - Street Fighter IV (only have Sakura and Gen unlocked so far)
PS3 - Little Big Planet (In the midst of the Western levels)
XBox 360 - Fable II (Exploring in the timeline between the Hero of Strength and Hero of Will quest chains)
PC - Oblivion (Working my way through the Gladiator Arena)
PC - World of Warcraft (dont get me started...)

And thats just off the top of my head, Im sure Ive got a few more in-progress titles that I left off.

Seriously, what do they do? How can anyone live without games?

Yes, I assume the non-gaming public will either be watching TV, or taking care of the family, or in the basement dancing ... or, well, I won't keep going down this road. Basically, there are a countless number of things to do to fill ones time, the majority of Americans though, I assume, watch TV, or play video games.

I, like Art and Mandie, always have a million other things to do. It is not so much that I juggle video games (though my list of unfinished video games is also very epic), I just have a lot of little hobbies and activities I enjoy; and many times those take priority over most video games.

Can you imagine living without games? (Or for some of my fellow bloggers - Warcraft? Mwahahaha!!)

What would I, a enjoyer of WoW, do without it? The thought it too scary to fathom. *Shiver*

*kowtows to fellow bloggers* you guys are just pro multi-taskers! I bow to your excellent skillz. :)

Strangely, I always have something to do. There's also something that needs to be done in the house. Things mysteriously piles up when I'm busy playing games.
There's one thing I know I won't be doing if I don't have a game to play, and that is relax. Call me crazy but it's really hard for me to relax. Maybe I have ADD? hehe...

It might be that as gamers, we are among those people that need to feel active, not only in our entertainment, but in our lives. It's not enough for us to simply watch our stories, we have to be the hero slicing our way through a thousand baddies on the way to ultimate victory.
