Remember the rainbows and unicorns controversy that arose when we first got our eyes on the artwork from Diablo 3? So many players were angry that the game was too bright, too sunny, and wasn't staying true to the dark, gritty nature of the original games in the franchise. Some forum trolls went so far as to darken up the released screenshots so that they could show what they believed the game should really look like. Once the developers had responded to the "it's too bright, we expect to see unicorns and rainbows," tripe, the joke stuck. Earlier this month MTV reported that some of the developers had added both unicorns and rainbows to screenshots of the game, making us all sigh, saying "that's just not right."
And then Rob Pardo, Blizzard's head dev honcho, showed up to BlizzCon 2008 wearing what is quite possibly the best t-shirt in existence. I'm am pleased as punch to announce that this marvel of gaming wear is now available for the rest of us to sport proudly. Nerdy Ts is selling these shirts for $14.50 (psst, there is also a coupon code good this week for 20% off when you enter "NerdyFriend2009" at checkout). Truly awesome.
