The Bounty Hunter's path lies along the edge; the stakes are always high and the path only leads two places, to a life of infamous glory... or to a quick and ignominious death. Sound like the sort of person you'd like to be? Well now you can as the Bounty Hunter becomes the first officially announced playable character for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Promising missiles and flamethrowers with tasks such as assassinations and deadly missions this promises to be an exciting class for any MMO lover.
For those of you who don't know, Star Wars: The Old Republic is a MMORPG set in the Star Wars galaxy about 300 years after the events of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. That makes it about 3,500 years before the time period that the films are set.
The game is currently being developed by Bioware whose past titles include Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Mass Effect. The game includes you choosing to align yourself with the Republic or the Sith and travel to many of the planets included in the Star Wars films as well as a number of new ones.
This Bounty Hunter introduction is the first hint at what will be included in the game as rating, release date, system requirements and subscription charge has yet to be announced. One thing is for sure though, this MMO will be heavily story driven and with the battle between the light and dark sides of the force this is definitely one game to keep an eye on.
