Final Fantasy XIII looks gorgeous. As the flagship RPG title from Square Enix, we all expect it to play pretty as well. Yesterday we heard that Lightning and her crew are going to be much more than pretty -- they are going to have the muscles to back up their looks, or at least the game is.
In an interview printed in Japanese gaming mag Dengeki Playstation 3, hype for the title reached an all-time high when the game's producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that they expect FFXIII to use 100% of the PS3's processing power. It's a bold statement considering that the next-gen Playstation console has some of the beefiest hardware out there. Of course this could very well be PR spin, but it's intriguing to think that in the next year we could see games finally using the full potential of the PS3.
My mind naturally wanders over to the Xbox 360 side of things. How will that system, with it's less-powerful processor, be able to work with Final Fantasy XIII? Will the game run fine, just look like crap? Is that sufficient for 360 owners, or are they going to clammer for more?
