For Fallout 3 fans, this week has been one of literally Broken Steel.  When the newest DLC pack released a few days ago, players encountered nothing but headaches.  Virtual riots ensued as PC users found their Broken Steel once downloaded would fail to install featuring some very nasty errors.  Because of the issues, they pulled the content from the Windows marketplace until thing were resolved.

Bethesda kicked their fix-it machine into high gear, and now G4TV is reporting that today they have announced that Broken Steel has been fixed.  This isn't the first time that things have gone wrong with Fallout 3 DLC.  The Pitt's launch was also rife with glitches, so it begs the question: why are they rushing these out the door?  Wouldn't it be better to wait a couple days, put all the little pieces of code neatly to bed, and then launch a solid DLC?  It's not like Bethesda hasn't already turned a nice, tidy profit from the core title.  All these headaches with the DLC are going to seriously hurt their hardcore fanbase, and it's the truly hardcore that buy DLC in the first place.
