First off, greetings from 35,000 feet! Back in 2008 when I started playing World of Warcraft I never moved from my desk at home (or at my office). This anchor system did not last long however, thanks to my company who introduced to a wireless connection card. This opened up a whole new WoW world to me.
Not only was I able to play Warcraft around my apartment, at the local coffe shops and up in the hills of Lake Tahoe, but sometimes LITERALLY on the go. I remember one time this past February heading down the east coast from NYC to Washington DC playing WoW in the back seat of a moving vehicle (why not right?). So this has gotten me thinking, where else can I play me some WoW?
Car - Well, we've established that this is possible, so long as you have a powerful enough wireless card with a network that is big enough to handle it. Personally, I was using a Verizon Wireless access card and had no problems. I imagine Sprint's and AT&T's wirless cards are of similar quality (although I do not know that for sure). Regardless, if you have the connection, you have the power to pwn at 70 mph, which is great smack talk especially when you just pwn'ed someone whose sitting at their desk at home.
Hotel Rooms - This one seems like a no brainer, but I have to be honest with you, I''ve experienced problems with the wifi at hotels. Depending on how many folks are staying there that night and using the internet you can have some REALLY tough times with lag and connection. Of course nothing makes your guild/raid group happier than having you DC right before a boss fight (or halfway between). Trust me on this, if you can, I'd stick with your own wifi if the connection is solid.
Train - Again, this kind of comes down to the wireless connection you have, but I've taken Amtrak (who has wifi available) and didn't see any real lag in play, unless of course we went into a tunnel, and sometimes even then it still worked. Despite the speed increase I didn't see to big a difference between the train and the automobile (proving perhaps that WoW is faster than a speeding locomotive and automobile). So how can we top this?

Convention Centers - Ever at a boring convetion? You know, ones that aren't E3, Comic-Con or Blizz-con. Well i've been to a few stinkers in my day and nothing gives me greater satisfaction then sitting somewhere "typing" away on my laptop, looking like I'm covering something important, when in fact I'm doing something infinitely more important (grinding rep). However, typically with the quality of the convention comes the quatlity of their available wifi. Most only offer it in the super exclusive "press room", which I tend to have access to but few others do (I'm writing this for my common man, or woman after all) I would say to bring your own wireless, but I find that typically convention centers are one gigantic "dead zones"for wifi service which then makes the cards worthless. The moral of the story is, if the convention sucks, get out! Otherwise, suffer the fate of infinite boredom.
At the Office - Probably the easiest place to play WoW, however it is also the most dangerous. Given the current state of our economy and companies downsizing it's probably not a good idea to give your boss any more reason to fire you than he/she does already. Take my advice on this one, if you're staying late, that's fine but lunchtime is not the right time. Of course if everyone else in your office plays it , then you'd better gear up!
Airplane - Prssently I am in one, typing away, thanks to Virgin America's new wifi service that is soon to be on their entire fleet (they are claiming by this summer). Unfortunately, in 3 attempts so far, I have yet to get much past the opening guild message before getting dc'd (and I'm just starting in Stormwind, as opposed to Dalaran). I will continue trying throughout the flight and hopefully will be able to pwn a NPC or two (which I would consider a major victory). But luckily for you gamers out there, Virgin America has a suite of games you can play in flight that won't rely on wifi (including the original Doom) as well as a nifty controller to play with.
I challenge all of you out there to take your WoW experience to the next level. Go wireless and let me know the craziest/most elaborate place you've ever satisfied your WoW craving. I can only imagine where some of the good ones will be. For now, it's 1,430 miles to New York City, it's light outside and I'm using wifi in a plane...... HIT IT!!
