With only a few short weeks before its release, Cryptic Studios and Atari are turning up the heat on Champions Online, with videos coming at us fast and furious. Two videos in particular stand out as extremely interesting given their topic: Character Customization and PvP.
PvP hasn't been a mystery for Champions but it seems to always be a difficult crux for a franchise. How much PvP is enough? How much is too much? And should we catering more to those players or the ones questing/grinding? The new PvP trailer released this week certainly doesn't disappoint, and it looks like tons of fun for users and their friends to test their merits against the Champions universe. Here's the newly released footage from Cryptic Studios:
Also newly released is a full run through of Champions new Character Customization abilities. After watching the video you can feel rest assured that you won't be running into too many look a likes in game. With tons of different options to choose from you can easily make thousands of different designed characters giving players the one thing they want most, individuality.
My favorite part aside from picking what time of character you'll be has to be the hue adjuster. This is fantastic because if I think that my flame powers should have an orange tint to them as opposed to say a red or heck even green, I can choose that. Very few games allow for that kind of depth in customization, mostly out of fear that it will ruin the game. Cryptic seems comfortable and confident in the game they have produced and like Runic Games' Torchlight, seem to be open and interested in seeing what their users create. Who doesn't love it when developers say "Power to the Player"?
