All good things must end.  And so it is that we received word today that the BlogFaction sites, omgRPG included, will be closing their doors today.  There are a lot of heavy hearts on our end, as you can imagine, as we have spent nearly two years writing about the games we love, and sharing that writing with you.  I for one had a great many plans for the site that we never got to see bloom into reality.

One thing I'd love to share with you was a concept we had for a redesign of the site.  The writers, myself definitely included, felt that the original site design wasn't giving us the feeling we wanted from the website, and so I set Arturis on task for rebranding our site to fit more with the entire spectrum of RPGs, from tabletop to MMO, since we covered it all.  While the site redesign never got finished, one thing did -- a new logo.  It was strong enough that I was able to use it for business cards for three of our writers, and for the last eight months or so we've been handing out these little beauties at events across the globe.

I personally want to take this opportunity to thank our readers.  It seems that every time I got an email from one of you I was again surprised by how widespread our readership really was.  I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but somehow people logged on to read our articles from the far corners of Europe and Asia, from the midwest and the south seas.  We wrote because of you, and you came and read and commented and made our words come alive.  So thank you.

Thank you also to my wonderful bevy of writers.  There isn't much I can say other than I am truly honored to have worked with you.  You wrote beautiful things filled with your passion and love for RPGs, and that is something that will never fade. Some of you were readers who became writers, some of you were strangers who became staff members.  All of you became friends.

So there you have it.  Nearly two years, several hundred posts, and dozens of horrible puns later, the roller coaster rides to a stop.  All that is left is for us to get out of the car, step into the sunlight, and see where the next adventure takes us.

Mandifesto, signing off.

It does suck, but alas, that is the way the cookie crumbles. I'll always have fond memories of omgRPG, and will forever be grateful to Mandifesto for giving this lil noob from New Zealand a chance.

Thanks to all the readers and I wish everyone the best of luck for the future!
